Welcome
Greetings
from the Silver Sage Region of the Porsche Club of America! The Silver Sage Region is proud to have been a part of the National Porsche Club of America since 1966. Our
membership includes Porsche enthusiasts from all over southern Idaho
and eastern Oregon, with a concentration in the Boise area. Member
meetings are usually held on the second Saturday of every month
and we invite you to come and join the fun.
Upcoming Events
Monthly board meeting: The Region board's next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 21 (note change from original date) at 7 pm, at the home of Sage Tick editor Stuart Davis, 1403 Heron Pointe Lane in Eagle (map) (Gate code #6808); (208) 859-9378. All members are welcome. A preliminary meeting at 6:30 will focus specifically on Sage Tick issues.
Monthly membership meeting: The September membership meeting is a local winery tour, led by President and First Lady Dave and Cathy Brown. Because of the number of people going to the PCA Escape in British Columbia during our normal "second Saturday," the tour will occur on Saturday, September 18. Go here for details.
Drivers' Ed and Club Race: At Miller Motorsports Park, September 24-26. Contact Rex Chandler for details. A block of rooms is reserved at the Hyatt Place, Salt Lake Airport. The room block is available starting Wednesday, September 22 thru Sunday, September 26 (for anyone who wants to leave on Monday). The rate is $59/night + tax for either single or double rooms and includes continental breakfast. To receive this special rate please call the Hyatt reservations number: 1-800-633-7313 and refer to group code PCOU or just mention Porsche Club. Or you can also call the hotel directly at: 801-363-1400.
Charity Update
The Silver Sage Board has decided on the club's charity for 2010. Here's President Dave Brown's announcement: "The board has selected the Idaho Foodbank Backpack Program to be this year's Silver Sage charity. I wish we had the resources to help them all as they were all very worthy. We will be glad to put the charity nominations that were not chosen at the top of the list for next year's selection. We hope that everyone will get behind this year's selection to help make our charity events as successfull as they have been in the past. Thank you for your nominations."
Our two big money-raising events will be the Oktoberfast in October and our charity auction in November. More information about our charity efforts this year will be forthcoming. Stay tuned.
