Bogus Basin Bacchanalia (BBB)

The big event in the year for the Silver Sage Region is the annual Bogus Basin Bacchanalia (BBB). It's a three-event gala held over the Memorial Day Weekend (Friday-Monday) at the Bogus Basin Mountain Resort, 16 miles north of Boise. Included are a rally, a mystery event, and the cornerstone event, the only hillcross held under the auspices of the Porsche Club of America. Also included in BBB are numerous social occasions, including an introductory dinner, a post-hillcross party, and a final awards banquet. There is also a golf outing for those interested.

BBB has been held almost every year since the first one in 1976, the Bogus Basin Bicentennial Bacchanalia.

The 2009 edition of BBB was held on May 22-25, 2009. The results can be found here.

Events: Following tradition, the main events are PCA’s only Hillcross, a Rally, and a Mystery Event.

Hillcross:

The hillcross occurs Saturday. The hillcross course is on a 2-mile road with seven hairpins and one decreasing radius turn. The hill has 500 feet of vertical rise. Car classes will be combined per the PCRs and in accordance with the entries received. Each participant should get four timed runs.

Rally:

The rally occurs Sunday morning. It takes drivers through Boise and the surrounding hills and farmland.

Mystery Event: The mystery event is, well, a mystery. It changes from year to year, and is something done purely for fun. All contestants are guaranteed a good time.

All drivers must have the following:

  • valid driver's license
  • current PCA membership card
  • long pants and long-sleeved shirt (natural fibers or nomex)
