November Silver Sage Monthly Meeting

November 11 - 40th Anniversary combined with SPUDS
(By Jan English)

It’s here, our big event to celebrate 40 years of fun, friends and driving with members of the Silver Sage Region Porsche Club of America.

We will celebrate with a slight twist. Since the club was established in the 60s, to be exact 1966, we will have a 60s theme for the party. This means we can all dress up in 60’s clothing, dance, hula hoop, sing or just listen to 60’s music, and talk 60’s cars. Reminisce about the 60s and what you were doing in that era or maybe what your parents were doing then, if we were not born as of yet. There will be commemorative beer steins for each person in attendance with our 40th anniversary logo etched into the glass. You will be given one stein per person attending, with more available for sale at the party. Anyway, it will be a fun party and I hope many of you can attend.

The dinner will be November 11, 2006 at 5:00pm. The location is at Two Rivers Lodge, in the Two Rivers subdivision in Eagle. Directions to Two Rivers Lodge: located off Eagle Road between State Street and Chinden. From Eagle Road, turn west onto W. Island Woods Drive (there is a signal light there). Go about a block and a half, the Lodge is on the left side. There is a large parking lot available. The address is 261 W Island Words Dr.

Spuds is historically an evening where the club members bring a toping for a potato, a side dish, or a dessert. The whole meal is built around the baked potato. So in order to obtain the correct dishes you must call Barbara Schott at 938-9411 or email (steve_schott_1999@yahoo.com) and let her know what you intend to bring. Remember to bring any implements you need to serve your dish, this includes serving dish, serving utensils, and any topping the dish may need.

Some of the items that are needed and are easy for some non-cook type people are listed below, plus we will need many more fun and different toppings.

8 salads with dressing
6 lbs of shredded cheese
3 24oz. tubs of sour cream
4 lbs of chopped and cooked broccoli
3 lbs butter
6 cups chopped green onions
4 cups bacon bits, real, not imitation
3 cakes
3 pies
6 dozen cookies

See you there!
