Oktoberfest / Karen Crane Make-A-Wish Car Show Oct. 13 (Steve Schott)

Our traditional October event is coming up on Saturday, October 13. As usual, the Fourth Annual Oktoberfest will start at 1:00 pm at Da Vinci’s Restaurant, located at First Street and State Street in downtown Eagle. The full title has been “Oktoberfest and the Ernie Ludwig Memorial Concours.” We are making a slight change this year; it will be known as “Oktoberfest and the Karen Crane Make-A-Wish Car Show.” See p. 8 in this issue for specific information on our Make-A-Wish plans.

Over the past four years, we have had 50-68 Porsches participating. We’d like to see 100 lining First Street this year.

To raise funds for Make-A-Wish, we will have a raffle for a set of NEW tires, courtesy of Porsche of Boise (Lyle Pearson). The raffle is open to both members and nonmembers, and will continue through November and December at our monthly meetings. More about these later. The tires are for any vehicle the winner wants to put them on with a maximum value of $1,500. Raffle tickets will sell for $10 each or 3 for $25. We will also be providing Porsche rides for cash donations. We will need some volunteer drivers. Drivers will give a short ride to non-Porsche owners over a short predetermined route.
