Sun Valley With Yellowstone Region

The Silver Sage Region's annual tour to Sun Valley is September 23-24. This year we have delayed our trip to late September to coincide with plans of the Yellowstone Region (Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming). The Yellowstone folks are planning a Friday departure, and will spend Friday and Saturday nights in the Sun Valley area, but many of us will probably spend just Saturday night.

We will meet in the Albertsons parking lot at the intersection of Federal Way and Gowen Rd. at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:15 departure. As usual, we'll head up Highway 21 through Idaho City, Lowman and Stanley, with rest stops as needed.

Our stalwart social lioness, Barbara Schott, has arranged to meet the Yellowstoners at the Redfish Lake Lodge at 1:30 p.m. for lunch. She's also scheduled a joint dinner at the Ram in Sun Valley that evening (cocktails at 6:00, dinner at 7:00, $48 per person). You needed to confirm with the Lodge by August 22 to get the rate she was quoted, but rooms may still be available if you plan to stay overnight. The phone number for reservations is 800-333-7912.

The Schotts are going up on Friday afternoon, September 22 and will meet the Yellowstone Region for dinner (Bald Mountain Pizza, at the Sun Valley Mall, 8 p.m.). Anyone from Silver Sage who is interested in going a day early should contact the Schotts. Wood River Valley locals, come out and join us, Friday or Saturday.
