Wallowa Lake Tour Details (Walt Thode)

The Silver Sage Region is heading to Joseph, Oregon, and Wallowa (pronounced “wal-OW-a”) Lake during the first weekend in October. We’ll meet at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 4 in the southeast corner of the Home Depot/Winco parking lot off State St. in Eagle, and will depart at 9:20. Our plan is to stop for lunch in Hells Canyon, so bring a picnic lunch of your choosing. The route will include a stop at the overlook in the Hells Canyon Recreation Area. We will stay at the Eagle Cap Chalets at Wallowa Lake that night, with a catered BBQ dinner ($15 per person—bring your own drinks) on the premises. Weather may be cool in October, so plan accordingly. The return to Boise on October 5 is at your leisure.

You will need to make your own reservations at

the Eagle Cap Chalets.  The rate will be about $69 for the night, and includes the free use of their conference room for our dinner and other activities if we have sufficient rooms reserved.  They held a block of rooms until September 1, but rooms may still be available; mention the Porsche Club when you call. The phone number is 541-432-4704. You can also check their web site, www.eaglecapchalets.com, and fill out a reservation form, and they will get back to you.

Please let me know when you reserve your room so I can include you in the dinner count.  Contact me at 363-9169 or wfthode@gmail.com.
